Meals From The Heart in America's Oldest Public Market
Meals From The Heart
Meals From The Heart was born in Chef Marilyn Doucette's home kitchen in 2006 with a mission of bringing healthier dining to the Big Easy — and making it more inclusive. What started as a labor of love for family and friends has grown into one of the French Market's most beloved kitchens.
Every dish is made from scratch, with vegan and gluten-free versions of the Louisiana classics you came to New Orleans to taste. Gumbo, jambalaya, crab cakes, beignets — the soul stays the same, the recipes welcome everyone.
Soul food with heart, served with care
The Historic French Market
Stretching six blocks along the Mississippi River in the heart of the French Quarter, the French Market has been a gathering place for traders, cooks, and travelers for more than two centuries. It is the oldest continuously operating public market in the United States.
You'll find us tucked inside the Farmers & Flea Market pavilion, where the aroma of spices, café au lait, and slow-simmered gumbo fills the air. Step in for a plate of soul food made the healthier way, then wander out to explore artisans, musicians, and centuries of Creole history just outside our door.
